Interested in participating in grassroots advocacy and education? In creating safe spaces for Indigenous Peoples of all ages?

The Indigenous Roots & Reparation Foundation (IRRF) Board of Directors is a group of majority-Indigenous community members, united in our passion for meaningful, sustainable social change and dedication to helping Indigenous community members feel safe and supported.

IRRF is committed to creating spaces for all Indigenous Peoples and voices to participate. From outreach and education to special events and gatherings, there is a place for every person to make a difference in our community.

Please review the basic board responsibilities below.

We are willing to have tough conversations that hold us accountable to our commitments. We welcome input and will work to incorporate all practical feedback to help achieve our goals.

• Assist the board in carrying out its fiduciary responsibilities by assuring the organization is being managed in a fiscally  responsible manner

• Attend training and events — or review articles and resources online — on non-profit board member duties and  responsibilities, and share the information with the board at large to assure that Indigenous Roots & Reparation  Foundation meets its state and federal obligations to maintain its non-profit status

• Suggest possible nominees to the board who can make significant contributions to the work of the board and the organization

• Contribute to Indigenous Roots & Reparation Foundation’s fundraising and development efforts and sustainability

• Inform others about, and promote, the organization and its mission, particularly in Indigenous spaces.

TIME COMMITMENTS
Depending on the time of the year, board members can expect to spend an average of 5+ hours a month preparing for programs and services, attending monthly Board meetings, and helping further the mission of the Indigenous Roots & Reparation Foundation. This could increase to 10 to 20+ hours per month when we are preparing for the annual events, like Huckleberry Camp, Indian Hemp Field Trip.

Officers (Chair, Co-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer) will spend more time.

We are an Indigenous-led team of grassroots organizers, practitioners, community builders, and media-based strategists from diverse Nations throughout Turtle Island.
