Aaron Nauman

Aaron is a Mí’kmaq descendant dedicated to ethical, Native American conscious, community-based cultural justice. He has more than 25 years of experience in the wider field of cultural heritage management and has been involved in complex projects involving sensitive information and multiple agencies (federal, local, state, and tribal). He has worked with, in and for Native American communities in the Midwest and Pacific Northwest. He holds graduate degrees from Michigan State University and the University of Washington and became intertwined with the indigenous people of the region in 2009, while teaching at the University of Washington in Seattle. In addition to helping to create additional space for Native people, he is helping to raise two daughters in this beautiful place and ensure they have a deep appreciation of the land, plants, animals and share in the indigenous rooted responsibility to protect them.
